About our teams

Every team in the ZHS Jrotc program is run by cadets with helping hands from the instructors when needed. Every team has it's own target group so every cadet is encouraged to try teams and take part in as many as they can handle. 
Teams form bonds between cadets that can last a lifetime. They each symbolize the pride, loyalty, bulldog spirit of our battalion.

Raider team

This team is dedicated to the physical fitness of its members by engaging in intense training sessions to prepare to battle strengths with other schools. Our goal every year is to win states.

Drill team/ Color guard

Is dedicated to the teaching and perfecting of drill and cermony routines through repetitive sequences. Our goal every year is to attend Nationals in Daytona.

DRUM CORPS

This is our battalions drum-line wich preforms in the parades and various events throughout the community. in this team, you will be taught to play cadences while marching.

The new team added to the battalion. We are the vocalist of the battalion: C/Maj Rickmeyer

Academic team

This team is composed of the ten brightest minds of the battalion. These cadets compete in jeopardy-styled quizzes against a time limit. Our goal every year is to make it to the National Level and attend the conference in Washington D.C.

Honor guard

This team performs in the community at various events, presenting the colors and completing flag-folding ceremonies.

Rifle team

Rifle team is our Sharp-shooting team. This team competes against other schools in a series of shooting positions in which they are granted points for their accuarcy. Our goal for this team is to win states.

        Show team
This team goes along with drum corp. There's a group of unarmed and a group of armed cadets, unarmed does hand and feet movements to the sound of the drums and the armed spins rifles to the sounds of the rifles as well. Commander: C/Ssg Lurcock
